Since 1997, the Saskatchewan Highways Act outlined requirements for automobile recyclers in Section 57 of Bill No. 46. Section 57 required automobile recyclers to obtain an Automobile Wrecker’s licence to carry on business.
The Ministry of Highways has repealed this requirement and provided formal notice to the automobile recyclers in 2022.
